My love for fitness and personal training has definitely come from all the experiences I’ve had in my life. I love to go on adventures and be a student of life and the many experiences it brings. I am also a Jiu Jitsu student and competitor, and that requires a high level of fitness and discipline in my personal life. Before I got certified as a NASM CPT I read books and looked through the internet for information about how to be healthy. The information was conflicting and confusing at best. If solutions did work, I often hated the lifestyle that came with the results. This meant that these were only temporary “fixes” and not new ways of thinking and lifestyle changes that I loved that would last. Fitness, from simply being healthy to being a world class competitor requires transformation and habit changes from the inside out. After I got my certification I joined staff at a local MMA gym as a personal trainer where I first found my love of Jiu Jitsu and worked with several different clients from postpartum clients to cage fighters. I went on to specialise in Fitness Nutrition, Weight Loss and MMA conditioning. I also became a TRX Coach and try to implement strong fitness foundation practices like yoga and pilates into TRX training for my clients. I found that it is not enough to simply be strong or have show muscles. Muscle functionality, power and flexibility are keys to longevity from the beginner who has never exercised to the top athletes in the world. Due to today’s unfortunate diet culture it is also my passion to help people through mental healing with their relationship with food and help guide them through physical/metabolic and mental healing so that they can have a full life with freedom and joy around their nutrition and relationship with food and the community aspect it often brings. I have been training clients both in person and online for the last five years. My joy is watching them unfold and grow into their fullest potential, I love to see them win in both big and small areas and join with them on their journey. Fitness and health often take a ripple effect into so much more than just the numbers on a scale, measuring tape or body composition scan. Fitness turns into a superpower of mental health and stability and confidence that affects the individual, and as a result everyone around them. I have the amazing privilege of watching my clients thrive personally to become better parents, better spouses and more courageous people who want to reach for their dreams and live what they were made for.
